i have a new soap box to get on today. linkin park: faint is on loud so i can really get into this. my mom fell at work (thank goodness she's ok) and several coworkers told her she needed to file workmans comp, but at her own admission it was her fault and she hadn't "broke anything". i left her a comment that said KUDOS to you. as an employer i can tell you that she is in the minority. there are so many out there that look for a reason to get W.C. and use it like a vacation or to sue their employers for just about anything. a safe place to work is an employers obligation and accidents do happen when W.C. is needed, but i think quite a few employees would be amazed at how much this ins. cost and how much it goes up with a relatively few number of claims made.
anyway all this is to say that weak work ethics and shallow loyalty on both sides cost us all, employer and employee alike.
well thank you for letting me have my say again.
